Pet Food and Nutritional Advice: We stock a large range of premium pet foods and give advice on which food will suit your pet. These range from puppy and kitten growth to adult maintenance to weight control to older pet diets and specialised diets for a whole series of medical conditions. Some of these conditions include blocked bladders, cystitis, kidney and bowel conditions and bad teeth. An overweight pet is at increased risk of many conditions. We have accurate electronic scales that you may use and our nurses offer free advice to help achieve weight loss.

Pet grooming of cats and dogs: This is done by our experienced pet groomer. Tracey Lee who works at the clinic for 2 days a week and has done so since 1988. She has been grooming now for over 25 years and is experienced in grooming "all breeds" with poodles being her speciality. Tracey has a good natural relationship with the pets and likes to take a "non rush" approach to each groom. Grooms need to be booked in so plenty of time can be allowed for your pet's groom. Phone the Clinic for appointments. [See "Meet the Staff" for more information on Tracey]

Puppy Pre School: Do you want a perfect pet or a perfect pest? We run Puppy Pre School which provides socialisation and behavioural training for puppies from 7 to 16 weeks. Puppy Pre School runs for 1 hour in the evening once a week and the aims of the course are:

  • To socialise puppies with adults, children and other dogs so as to avoid behavioural problems in later life.
  • To teach about normal dog behaviour and how to recognise early behavioural problems.
  • To expose puppies to different experiences and noises so that they are well adapted to make pleasurable pets.
  • To get them used to veterinary clinics so they are enjoyable visits.
  • To teach/learn some basic commands such as "sit, drop, come and stay".

Puppy Preschool

This is where you can learn how to toilet train puppies and how to control mouthing, jumping up, chewing furniture, timidness and aggression.
We strongly recommend follow up with a dog obedience club or school for older puppies/adults. Here they get further training and some dogs thrive on some of the activities like dog agility. Puppies must have had at least the first vaccination and be following a vaccination programme
